To determine whether an integer number is even or odd, utilize functions.
- We have created a function even_odd(int n) with the return type is int and has parameter n.
- The parameter n is tested to see if it is divisible by two.
- If the condition is true, then n will be an even number; otherwise, it will be an odd number.
- We declared two variables in the main function: n and flag. n holds user input, while the flag stores the result returned by the method even_odd().
- The even_odd function evaluates the input n.
#include<stdio.h>
int even_odd(int);
void main()
{
int n,flag=0;
printf("\n to check whether a number is even or odd");
printf("\nEnter the number: ");
scanf("%d",&n);
flag = even_odd(n);
if(flag == 0)
{
printf("\nThe number is odd");
}
else
{
printf("\nThe number is even");
}
}
int even_odd(int n)
{
if(n%2 == 0)
{
return 1;
}
else
{
return 0;
}
}
output:
to check whether a number is even or odd
Enter the number: 23
The number is odd
to check whether a number is even or odd
Enter the number: 22
The number is even
